No, no one posted it here. I guess you can consider me guilty as charged.

Yes, George Fullerton, Leo Fender's long-time partner, passed away due to heart failure on the evening of 7/4/2009.

Tim Page, a close friend of Mr. Fullerton's and owner of Buffalo Bros. Guitars, has a couple of very touching posts up about his friend George.

Here, in the G&L Forum, where it belongs?

Where does it belong? He worked at Fender and Music Man, as well; not just G&L.

True, but neither of those companies bear his name- Fenderton? Musicmang? Nah! There's no denying George's importance at Fender in the early days, just as Freddie Tavares, Bill Carson and Forrest White were some of the people who were instrumental (pun intended) to the successes of Fender. California guitar-building has been described as 'an incestuous business', seemingly like everyone works for everyone else at times, but George was most proud of G&L.

It doesn't matter where it's posted, I hope that everyone who reads the posts about George's passing, take the time to learn more about the man. He is now re-united with his loving wife of 63 years, and they will spend eternity together in the arms of God. Goodbye George, and thank you.

Just sayin' - this forum is the G(eorge) & L(eo) Bass Forum - just would've expected that kind of news to rate enough to see it here, not read about it on another generic site. I check out this forum about at least every other day (when I have the chance).

RIP GF

Well I, for one, did not know about this until now. And I probably wouldn't have known unless it was posted here. Thanks for the heads up and rest in peace, Mr. Fullerton.

I am sorry to hear this, but I didn't know about this until now, either.

I was actually typing out the thread when the announcement appeared on the G&L website (I was browsing it) and halfway through completion I received word that my great grandmother died as well, so I closed the browser and was too occupied to think anything more of it. Rest in Piece, Mr. Fullerton.

I just found out about Mr. Fullerton's passing right here. Sad indeed. I only got to meet him once and he was a very gracious gentleman.
