just was wondering what the thoughts were about playablity and sound next to its USA built cousins, it looks like the elctronics are the same... |

The pickups are the same but the electronics are cheaper versions. On mine the fretwork is terrible and the finish doesn't seem to hold up as well as the USA's. Tributes are a steal used, and I would imagine the fit and finish are improved on the newer models. |

Definitely on par with the US models and didn't feel cheap at all. I would have bought it on the spot if I didn't already have a US L2000 that I'd never sell. There was a really good deal on it, too. |

I superglued the strap button screws into place, and added larger diameter screws around the jack on the p/g. No problems since.
Oh, and to comment on above... fretwork was great (haven't had to bust out a file yet) and the finish has held up to a lot of abuse.

And I'l say it surpasses many basses that costs WAY more that I've tried. The quality is really good and the tone is extremly versatile, all from Stingray to Jaco tone to P-bass in ONE bass.
That disturbingly good for a bass at the $400-500 range!

I bought a Korean Tribute with the swamp ash body, and it sounds just like I remember the American. I have no need or desire to get anything else. |

| | | | I play a Trb-2500 and it has been great to me. I play it every week 2 times a week. I take care of my equipment. I bopught my Trib after the pot problem was fixeD. I have not had pot problems. I bought the kind that has a big G&L on the bridge and a small tribute on the headstock. Everyone who plays it loves it. I plan on going to a lighter set of strings and drop the strings down a little. I still like to slap and it is harder on a G&L. I have the Swamp Ash also. Korean made, I love it, no problem with mine at all. Very good quality. I choose the maple neck also. It is sweet. |

| | | | I have the swamp ash Indonesian Tribute, big G&L on bridge, blueburst, rosewood fretboard.
Love the bass. I have gas for amps and other gear, but very little gas for new basses. I am really satisfied with my Tribby. I don't know about the Korean ones, but the newer Indonesian 'ash' ones just seem to be incredibly well done.
If I gas for more basses, it'll be for a 5 or 6 string since I don't own one. I would defintely buy a Tribute L-2500.
Has anyone done any comparisons on the Koreans versus the Indonesians? Having had such good luck with my Indonesian version, I'd be afraid to buy anything else.
