Mmmmmmm, toploader.
Allegedly re-fin'd at the factory; "G&L Fanatic Points" awarded for recognising what's not quite right with her.

Just got my first L1000 today- an '80 mahogany/maple board with slotted poles........I gotta say- its probably got some of the sweetest (as in candy) tones I've ever heard, and it feels amazing as well. I think I may have found a new addiction!

The neck finish on mine is a golden amber color now- yours looks amazing for the age! I love the way mine looks too, but it could pass for a late 60s bass!
I'll post some pics of mine soon- probably tomorrow when I can get some good outdoor lighting...

Is that an original smooth black finish on the bridge? My '81 has one of those.... |
