New to me, and a real sweetheart.
Mmmmmmm, toploader.
Allegedly re-fin'd at the factory; "G&L Fanatic Points" awarded for recognising what's not quite right with her.

One point! It's in the side now, but it's a football plate-which differs from current spec switchcraft type.

It could be this black....

although you do have the black bridge/knobs....

Just got my first L1000 today- an '80 mahogany/maple board with slotted poles........I gotta say- its probably got some of the sweetest (as in candy) tones I've ever heard, and it feels amazing as well. I think I may have found a new addiction!

Yeah, they were seprated at birth- except mine is way more "reliced"...naturally, of course (must have been the twin that hung with the wrong crowd- fooled around with drugs, etc...while yours went to catholic school and volunteered at the nursing home) . The neck finish on mine is a golden amber color now- yours looks amazing for the age! I love the way mine looks too, but it could pass for a late 60s bass!

I'll post some pics of mine soon- probably tomorrow when I can get some good outdoor lighting...

Very nice Chef! That would fit in nicely with my black 83 L2K and black 1st gen SB-2. Looks like a flat black control plate and crinkle bridge? Were knobs like that ever stock? Man I need a 1K...

It has no red vinyl cap on the switch!

Is that an original smooth black finish on the bridge? My '81 has one of those....

Mis-matched control plate and bridge finishes: one point!
Wrong control knobs: one points!

You have the lead, currently

Missing switch cap: one point!
Bridge is the correct finish, control plate, not so much...
