I bid on this L5500

She's a little crusty but hopefully I can get it at a decent price.

I had a transparent green L5500 I bought new in '96 for $1300 if I remember right. Loved that bass but its time came and I moved on. Not one of my brightest ideas.

So anyhow, what's a decent price for this old workhorse?

Wow! That's a nice looking bass. Seems like they are kind of high on shippping (IMO) and they want you to buy insurance or they will not be responsible. That's all cool but I'd take it into consideration for the final price. My guess is that it will go between $600-$800 if it's in good playable shape.

I paid $800 for mine, shipped. With the case, all the original paper work, and not a scratch on it, it's trans. Green, purdy, and one of the meanest sounding basses I've ever played. There was a blue one with a maple neck I almost snagged a few months ago, which I didn't (I only bid the opening price, sold for like $550), i was so glad...because my future L-2500 was put up for auction the next day (not that I would have been UN-happy with another L-5500).
I've seen them going for $500-$800.

I'm scoping out that L5000 that's up there now...don't think I'll have the $ for it though.
