Details to follow. Yesterday (Saturday) I went to Bass Player Live in Hollywood. One of the vendors was N-Tune, they make onboard tuners that fit under your volume knob. (Cool product BTW) They were having a drawing for an L2500 with their product installed and I won. I need to arrange for it to be delivered or picked up and I will post pix.

To be honest, I'm not sure yet. I think it is a natural finish with a maple fingerboard. I saw the ones they had at BPL but I don't know which won they are giving me. I will probably be picking it up on Thursday.

Here it is

I just picked it up tonight. It is exactly like my L2K, but who's complaining? Now I just need to learn to play it.

You know, N-tune is lucky they awarded the bass to a TB member. They're sure to get their money's worth in publicity on this forum. If they gave it to a non-TB bass player, they would never gotten exposure like this.

But anyhow, how does the tuner work anyways? Seems convenient. Does it work well? What power source does it run on? Is it better than a pedal tuner?

Congrats. Have fun learning. Just getting started and decided to get a Tribute SB-2 but was seriously considering the Tribute L-2500 Kramerj had for sale, that is until it was sold. Really like to look of the wood grain like you now have!!!!

I have never used a pedal tuner. But this one is pretty simple to use. All you do is pull the volume knob out. The yellow light indicates the key, red when you're out of tune and green represents when you're in tune. It comes with the modified volume knob and a battery connection. However, since the L2500 is active they used the existing battery, and I am told the tuner doesn't require much power, so as long as you don't leave the bass plugged in the battery should last you for about a year.

It came installed, so I don't know how hard it is to install, but they say it's pretty simple to do.

When you pull the volume knob out, does it bypass the signal or is the signal still active?

Wowzers.. congrats man!

It looks like a bigger cousin to my fretless L-1500, she's a natural too.

I thought about going. Glad you did and won. Cool bass, a gift from chance.

Like to hear about your experiences with the tuner after you've used it for awhile.
