It's a Keeper!

My new Tribby L2K (Blueburst w/Maple fretboard) arrived Friday. My first impression on opening the box was "This is a really nice gig bag for an import bass".

What was inside the bag wasn't too bad either. No flaws in both workmanship and finsh. Beautiful wood grain on the neck and body. Setup out of the box was fantastic. Just a tuneup and I was good to go.

Plugged in my headphone amp and WOW! This is a tone monster. Spent about 90 minutes playing with all the controls while goning over some songs for Saturday's gig.

Adjusted pickup height Saturday morning and took it to loadin/sound check in the afternoon just to hear it live thru my Markbass. I had no intention of of playing it at that night's gig. Yeah, right. I ended up playing it all night while my goto '59 PBass sat on it's stand.

I had not played a G&L before as the closest dealers are a good trek away in DC and ordered one based on all the comments in this forum. As soon as I got my hands on it I had the same feeling I had 35 years ago when I picked up my PBass and 29 years ago when I picked up my '78 Ric.

It's a keeper!

Congrats!

There's a rule, you know.... No pics, no bass. It doesn't exist until we see it.

Exactly the bass im look at getting.

How are you liking it so far? Still living up to your thoughts on it straight out of the box?

Sexy bass, you've done well mate.

They are excellent basses. Find more to love about mine every time I pick it up.

Play passive for awhile, then kick on the preamp, and....whoa, love that sound too!

Change the pickup setting, and whoa...love that just as much.

Beautiful bass.

AGREED! Considering selling mine, but am having 2nd thoughts. It REALLY punches through! Just bought it in May. Mine has Rosewood.
Have fun, good luck.
