Pulled the trigger on it! I got the seller to come down to my price. She's got some mojo but everything works and the neck is straight. She's a heavy one - 11lbs.

That's a nice bass! 11 lbs. is heavy, alright. I'll bet it sounds great!

Yes it does sound great! I put flats on it and it's a joy to play. It's loud, clear and snappy with great sustain. OMG mode is perfect for reggae. The weight isn't an issue because it's all in the body so it balances really well, even sitting down. I'm going to be doing a lot of woodshedding with this bass.

Nice bass. Looks familiar!

I was looking for an old S500 for months and not finding one, so I put that L1K up as trade bait and had an offer within hours. Sad to say, I don't like the S500 near as much as that bass, but I'm a lousy guitar player.

As far as an investment, it will be interesting to see what happens. I suspect the low demand is because not enough stars everyone wants to imitate are using or used one.

I personally think they are undervalued. It took me close to 6 months to find the exact L2000E I was looking for. L1000's aren't as rare, but they're not exactly common either. I certainly won't be planning my retirement on em, but I would be surprised if the early ones don't see a good bump in price within the next 10 years.
