I've used DR nickel Lo Riders before with good results. Another flats choice I've stumbled onto by accident is Sadowsky flats; SBF45 on the package. These sound REALLY good on my '84 L2K.

Want galactically big? Try Roto 77's in the bigboy 110 ga.

If you would like a deep, smooth, bluesy tone, the 9050L's have it. They are .045, .060, .080, .095, the least tension, sound really deep and feel great too (of course IMHO) |

If you prefer higher tension strings, the TI's might not be for you. They are one of the lowest tension strings. Thought you might like to know before you fork out a lot of money for them. Having said that, I love TI jazz flats.

| | | | i use DR nickel loriders on my mahogany L1000 (although it is a fretless with an ebony fingerboard.) they are the best tone-wise for my bass that i've tried so far. second best were the Dunlop nickels. they have a beautiful feel (not too sticky, not too slippery), balanced tension, and they sound broken in (but still alive) right away. but they lack the deep "funk" of the lo riders, and the harmonics weren't as rich and bright (although they were close.) | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
