I know I'm preaching to the choir here but I just have to share one more time how much I appreciate my L 2000. It is a mid 90's Honeyburst with a nice figured maple/rosewood neck. I was noodling around with all my basses yesterday and I must say my L2000 was the most fun to play, and had the best and greatest variety of sounds of all my basses. My only complaint is it is heavier than I prefer (10 lb.). My second favorite is my Carvin 5 string bolt (9.75 lb) or Musicman Sterling (9 lb.), then my MIM P-bass with SD Pickups and CTS pots (8 lb), Geddy Lee Jazz (9.5 lb), '83 Squire P (8.75 lb), and MIM 5 string with Fender Noiseless pick-ups and series/parallel switch(10 lb), in that order. On the L 2000 I like all the settings depending what I'm playing but usually hover around the passive /neck/parallel setting with highs cut a bit and lows cranked. Great old school sound! On the higher end I like Passive/Series/bridge pickup with lows cut and if I use both, it's passive/series with a little cut in lows and highs. This is a dangerous setting!
