L-2000 necks?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just looking around at different basses, and these GL L2000s(American and Tribute) interest me, all I ask is what is the neck like? The neck width at nut says its 44.5mm on the GL website.. thats huge! I go to the fiver page and its the same width so whats up

My mistake, I didnt even read the sticky :|

Buuut, I have another question, goes G&L custom build both the Tribute and the more expensive models? This is probably in a sticky somewhere also.

Standard, it's 1.75 and fairly flat. It's got advantages and dis. Took me awhile to get use to it, but now I find it comfortable especially while standing. I like my JB-2 for sitting.

The neck is based on the Precision Bass set-up. If you look around, you can find the neck in the 1.5 nut width as well. Sound wise the guitars are identical and flat out have BIG KAHUNAS!!! Good luck.

The Trib is made overseas but uses the same electronics/pups as the US version. The US version is available in 4 different configurations (2 jazz, 2 Pbass sized), the Trib has only it's default neck. The necks between the two are totally different in construction technique, it's the main difference between the two.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but just out of curiosity: which neck is standard in the Tributes? I mean like the #7 is standard on the American ones.

I think all tributes use the #7 neck... but that is based on the feel compared to my fretless L-2000. I could and am most likely wrong, but I try hard.
