L2000 Tribute Factory Strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone know off hand what the default gauges of strings used on the L2000 Tributes are? I'd like to replace the current set in the future with the same gauge.

Recently picked one up (premium ash) and must say it competes directly with my '94 Tobias Killer-B. I've needed a 4 string for a while and I'm honestly really impressed with the G&L L2000 Tribute.

Yes. If you go over to the juststrings.com page and look at the SIT strings, look for the ones that say "fits G&L" in the description. The other ones won't be long enough.

Silly question, but it's a silly question that has been nagging me:

My Tribute SB-2 came from eBay with strings that have yellow silk wrapping. I like them, and would like to know what they are when it comes time to replace them. Could they be the factory SIT set?

Hmmm...I dunno, assuming the strings that came on my Tribute are indeed SIT strings, they have black clothe wrapping on the machine end.

Another question folks...I can't seem to get my B-string intonation perfect, it's about 10 cents sharp (so not enough to really be audible on such a low note, but it bothers me since I know it's slightly off), and there's no more travel at the bridge to lengthen it. Any thoughts? All the other strings are perfect intonation with bridge travel left in either direction...can't figure what the deal is with the B-string. I could take that bridge saddle screw out and cut a little off of the screw then put it back on, but I kinda hate to mess with that approach. I may just try a new set of strings....sometimes that seems to fix weird intonation issues like this one.

FWIW, I think my answer is in This Thread, Fender Original Pure Nickel.

Any luck with your intonation issue davesisk?
