L2500 bridge and heavy flats top-load

Went back and listened to an album I used my L2500 strung with Chromes on. Currently have Nickel Lo-Riders on--love 'em but . .. man, it sounded good with the Chromes! Makes me wanna go back to flats on it, maybe Labellas. Thing is, I only had them on for a short time, and due to the fact that A), the B string wouldn't fit through the ferrule to do through-body, and B), I just don't like bending flats that way to begin with, I had it top-loaded. Had it that way for a few months tops. I've seen some posts about bridges pulling out of bodies---is that a fluke, rare occurence, or a real threat with these babies? Mine is a US, a 2003 btw.

Edit: Or, do I do Chromes thru-bridge? I had a P like that years ago and never had a problem with the strings? But there's the pesky "skinny ferrule" issue. I don't wanna deal with enlarging that. I usually shop at Just Strings, so if I WERE to do top-load, which set are we talkin' here, anybody know? Frankly I don't recall what I bought at the time. Would I need Super Long? or just the regular fiver set?

Chef had his Tribute's bridge pull up on him some time ago and G&L took care of it.

The Saddle Lock bridge has an extension that protrudes into a body rout. This will counter some of the string tension. Still, there are only 3 wood screws holding the bridge down onto the body. So...

It is generally recommended that the L-2500/1505 be strung through-body if at all possible. The problem here is that some B strings won't go through the ferrule (TI Flats) or the break across the saddles is a bit sharp for some other B strings. Flats seem to be the most problematic here. An accepted workaround is for the player to run E through G through-body and the B through-bridge.

That help?

Thanks--yeah, I've thought of that. Somehow it makes me feel . . . "off kilter" in a way. Might not matter much I know, probably all in my head!

I will check, but if my my memory serves me, I ran TI Jazz flats thru body on my L2500. I love them, they are low tension, which took some getting used to. I slipped a set of Chromes back on back in the spring, and only left them on for a few days, and put the TI's back on. I like the stiff tension of the Chromes, but the tone of the TI's wins out.

I might try the LaBella 'Deep Talkin' Flats' Next. I also might try D'Addario "Ground Rounds' but they will top load only, too short for thru-body.
