L2500 Custom Mahogany Back?

Does anyone know if you can custom order an L2500 with a mahogany back instead of the standard Tilia?

L2500s are now solid alder or solid ash - no more ash top/tilia back for about a year. On rare occasions I have gotten G&L to build a mahogany bass but they won't do it at all right now. They say their available mahogany is much too heavy for a bass.
