does the serial start with CLF?

It is an option someone asked for. USA are the only ones with matching headstocks.

By "Plain-Jane", do you mean the simpler lettering? If so, that's pretty normal for a matching headstock bass. By comparison:

exactly.

well I own it now... bass #25... geez!

according to the neck it is a 2001 and it is almost perfect, like as near minty new a 7 yo bass could be.
