"Legacy" or "Legacy Standard"

Sign in to disble this ad
I am trying to learn more about a guitar I recently purchased:

eBay: 120204432651

Is it a "Legacy" or a "Legacy Standard"? The G&L site says that the Legacy Standard comes with a gig bag rather than a hard shell case. But, it also says that the "Legacy Standard" has a matching head stock.

Can you tell me which guitar this is and what the differences between the different models are? That is, the differences between the case and the headstock.

Thanks!

What G&L site are you looking at? http://www.glguitars.com/ doesn't say anything about a Legacy "Standard" (I think its probably just a regular old Legacy as opposed to a Delux, Special, et all.)

If your guitar doesn't match anything there it would probably be helpful to post a pic or at least link to the e-bay auction page.

Main page -> "Instruments" tab at left -> "Fullerton Standard Series" at right.

OK I see what you're talking about. Its a Legacy. All the US guitars are made at the Fullerton CA factory as far as I know (not just the Fullerton Standard). They look to be the exact same thing except for the matching headstock on the FS and maybe(?) the pickups.

As far as I can see, there's no difference between the Legacy and the "Legacy Standard", except for the limitation in choice for the finish while buying a new one and the gig bag instead of the molded case.

So the Standard may have been a little bit cheaper at the same quality of the guitar itself.

macallan12y's guitar is probably a Standard, as the finish of the body and the gig bag matches perfectly. The missing matching head stock could be just normal for a Standard produced some time ago, and for my taste you should be happy for that.

I'd say its a Fullerton Std.The aged plastic parts was another feature of the standard.the natural headstock is unusual though.
the Stds are only offered in 4 finishes as far as I know, with no options.I bleeb the bodies are made using more pieces of wood and the only other difference I know of,apart from the gig bag,are the bridge saddles which are die cast on the Stds and chrome plated brass on the regular Legacys

I have a Std in Fullerton Red and I love it,though I'll be honest and say i wish it had a natty heastock like the original posters

You got yourself a great guitar!
