MIA L2K vs Indo JB-2....

Sign in to disble this ad
The "Indonesian" JB-2 arrived today and it's very much a "$400 guitar", BUT it ain't my L2K!! I don't know what the MIA JB-2 sounds and plays like, BUT it's safe to assume the Indo JB is probably 80% it's Asian cousin. Honestly, I think I am very jaded at this point to my L2K. Remarkably, I even feel more at home with that telephone pole #10 neck after all.

The one distinct difference (plus) is the weight of the Indo JB. It's much easier to shoulder.

O.K., I'm taking some of my earlier findings back. I worked with the two volumes and tone control a bit and it sounds much better. I do love those magnetic alnicos. I get some awesome slap out of this baby. Maybe I just had to get use to the set-up. Can say one other thing, it has more tone accidentally than my Lakland 44-01 has on purpose!!!

See why I hate Barts. I look at a bass, see those, and walk right on to the next one.

The alnico JB-2 is a whole different animal than an MFD bass but certainly it shines in some applications.
