Question might switch to Asat

I've been playing a Tribute L2000 for a while now. I'm thinking about switching to a USA built Semi-hollow Asat bass. My reason for going this route would be to pick out my own options and also the reduced weight of the semi-hollow. My question is, would I really notice that much of a weight difference? I do like the Tribute but would have to use it as a trade in for the Asat. I don't want to make a swap if I end up with something that sounds and weighs about the same as I've already got. Maybe I should check in to ReRanch supplies and just refinish the Tribute.
