MIK SB-2

I snagged this off eBay, should be arriving in a couple of days;

It is an MIK SB-2 (or perhaps MIJ ??) and has the larger Tribute on the headstock and stamped in the bridge. According to the seller it is in good shape, lightly used, etc... The price was fair so I did the BIN and grabbed it.

If I recall correctly, G&L discontinued the MIK SB-2 but continued to manufacture other Tributes before moving production to Indonesia. Does anyone know how long ago that was ? Any other comments on Tribute SB-2's of this vintage are welcome.

Looks like a Korean one to me from the larger sticker and the big TRIBUTE on the bridge.

Looks Korean to me, too. It will be clearly marked on the head. I have her cherryburst twin, they're nice basses.

I think i just bought one from the same guy. Pic angle and lighting look identical, but mine is black. Same maple fretboard though, which isn't offered anymore. Sweet deal!

You must have grabbed the one that just came up today on eBay. It is not the same seller, but you are right, the pic looked very similar.

Mine was delivered on Saturday ... I am very happy. It is my first maple neck ever and it arrived clean with a great setup. The neck is nicer than my USA SB-2 and the Indonesian SB-2 I plan on selling sometime soon.
