More growl from my Trib SB-2

Sign in to disble this ad
Need some help. Just bought a Tribute SB-2 and am very happy with the look and feel but it doesn't have the growl (guess that's what you'd call it) of the USA SB-2 I played at the store. Played around with the settings on my amp and with the volume controls on the bass. Any suggestions for this rookie? Played at the store on an SWR WorkingPro 15 and have a SWR Super Redhead here at home.

Could be the strings or the height of the pickups or the fact that you're using a different amp. You need to try different things to get the sound/tone that you're after.

That's odd considering the SB-2 has such hot pickups I got no problem getting a growl out of my Tribby, I guess I'd start by turning the volume for the P to 100% roll off the volume on the J and set your amp flat and start going from there.
