Smile My G&L

Hello, my name is JD and I've been the proud owner of a L-2000 bass since 1993. It was the first "nice" bass I ever had. I was a junior in high school when I got it, and now 13 years (and a few basses) later it's still my main ax. I own more expensive basses, but I just always go back to my G&L. It's a $1,200 bass that I think plays and sounds better than most basses 2 or 3 times as expensive. So it's cool to find more G&L players. I like to play weird stuff so I have flirted with the idea of putting a tremello on this bass. I am way too afraid of messing anything up to attempt this myself, so I was wondering if I could get some advice. There doesn't seem to be anybody in my area who does this kind of thing often. Is there a certain brand of tremello that would work better on my L-2000? Does anybody know if there is a person I can trust with this in the mid-eastern U.S.? Any help would be greatly appreciated, or if you just want to talk bass, that's cool too.

a bit off topic, but if it's your favourite bass, then don't mess it up. putting a tremolo is irreversible. my 2cts.

They did offer them at one time with the Kahler trem. Occasionally you see them pop up on evilbay.

Keep watching to snag one if it comes around but don't mess with what works now.
