I love this bass guitar. I have had her since 1998 and she is in mint condition. I don't know what G&L was thinking discontinuing this model. Bring it back!

Very nice! I assume they discontinued it due to the large amount of competition in the P bass world. Since they are doing the JB-2 jazz model maybe they will bring this back. The PB-1? Probably not...

I was very surprised when G&L discontinued this model. I know more goes into a model's viability than just sentiment but considering Leo's the man who brought to the world the P-bass, they ought to keep his later evolution of the model in the lineup. It's a great sounding and playing bass.

I have a very similar LB 100 that I picked up second hand for a very reasonable price. I love the tone, look, and feel. I could do without the 7th fret dead spot on the first string, but hey....I'll deal !

Your bass is the same colour as mine. You have the mother of toilet seat pickguard whereas mine is a plain white. I haven't experienced any dead notes on mine, though.

Then yours is perfect whilst mine is only near-perfect ! I work around it.

Dudes-- These are GREAT-looking G&L's-- I'd like to get my hands on one as a back-up to my L2000...

Is it possible G&L had some trouble from the boys at Fender over this model? It just seems like such a natural P-fighter-- Would no doubt be a great seller in the Tribute range. But I could also imagine a high-ender with a nice sunburst over figured maple, maybe some body-binding...

I can only speculate that, from a marketing standpoint, it was "too" P-bass. Probably not enough differentiation in price, features, tone to sway people who were comparing it with a MIA Fender. If you come across one, you won't be dissappointed.

It always amazes me how dumb consumers are and how much a name matters. Ok, maybe I'm being a little harsh calling someone
"dumb" but there is a lot of truth to what I'm saying. You should care about buying the instrument that uses the better materials and is crafted in a superior manner as G&Ls are.

I am convinced that G&Ls are far superior instruments to the current Fenders as G&L uses better materials and their quality is better. And yet, Fender outsells G&L by what 1000:1? It's all about the name on the headstock with the masses. They're like sheep.

The only place Fender kicks G&L is in resale value.

Heh, I have an LB-100 just like that -- cherryburst, rosewood, with a white guard. It's sitting in a friend's studio now, so no pic, sorry.

Great bass. I've played many a P that can't compare.
