About 6 weeks? Mine is pretty "plain jane" though. I'm not sure what options you have ordered. Hope this helps ease the waiting pains!

I'm really hoping this is the one because I've been feeling some GAS pains for some different basses lately. Matt did say this is one of the better ones he has played that have come through his store. Soooo....

There will never be just "one" and your GAS pains will never go away, no matter how wonderful your current bass is. The "perfect" bass is always the one you're yearning for.
But regardless, I hope you fall in love with it once you play it. It sure looks pretty. |

nah... i hope this one is it for you. |

How funny is that, I'm not sure who has it now. Jon -Horny Toad had it for a short while. Thank you for the compliments. Yes if this one dosent "do it" for me I'll definetely let you guys have a crack at it. But I'm still hopefull.

You ordered that as a custom build and it only took them 6 weeks to complete it? I thought g&l took 6 months to make a bass? If they're that fast f$#@ getting a new american standard jazz bass. Im ordering a JB-2 with a clear coated swamp ash body and a maple fret board!

B | Hey Brent;
I still have your old one after picking it up from HornyToad last June. Here's hoping your new one tips the scales at under 9.5 ! It looks great, good luck,
John

They may look and play similarly initially, but down the road they will feel completely different. One will be an old friend and the other will probably just be old. How long are you planning on keeping this bass? The wait will be worth it. I played a Hohner for 3 months while I waited for my first SB-2 to be completed. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I ordered it the last week of February. G&L must have been tooled up for a run of L2000's or I might have just lucked out. My previous L2000 took about 3 months to do.

John | Hey John,
Nice to hear from you! How is the "Beast" anyway? I would love to see some recent pics. Glad to hear it has stayed in the "Family". It is a lovely bass and if I was still in my twenties I may have just got a super padded strap and dealt with the weight. You and Horny Toad weighed it right? Wasn't it 11 lbs or something?
B
PS: Just checked my shipment status. The bass in I are only seperated by 40 mins it looks like! Wish me luck!

I know how good they are(so yeah i know most of them are better than most fenders . It took me buying about 12 basses after
i had my g&l to figure it out though. I've been yearning to go back to where i feel most at home, but its so hard to find JB-2's in a simple clear gloss swamp ash body with a maple fret board. I cant believe they only took 6 weeks to make that for you ! that is awesome! And to think, i waited 13 weeks for a friggin carvin, good thing i sent it back. I'd much rather give g&l my money. I was always under the impression that they were really slow with build times, geuss i was misinformed. Have fun with that l-2000 |

Dunno 'bout you but any bass I have played a while becomes "an old friend". None are "just old".
