Just started dreaming 'bout buying another G&L last week. I started reading the G&L forum again and found that everyone else was looking for a 1000 too. I decided to not even look for one 'cause I don't even have the money.

When I walked into my local used music store (on my way to practice) and he had this on the wall, I couldn't believe it. It was fate.

I didn't have any money but, I had an amp in my car that I didn't like and he gave me more money for it than I thought it was worth. Then he dropped the price of the bass, 'cause I was trading for it. I still owe him some cash so, basically it's on lay away.

I got such a good deal I was floating. Like an addict who just got his fix.

What a good day.

These pics are from the stores gbase account.

Nice one! Can't tell for sure but it looks pretty early. What's the #?

There was no serial number. The bass guy that works there said that the early ones didn't have them. I don't know if that's true or not.

He said that most likely Leo Fender touched this bass. That made me smile. Even if it's not true I'm gonna pretend like it is.

Did they come with brass nuts or was it installed after market? I know they were big for a while. My 78 p-bass had one when I bought it.

My 81 wunkay has the serial number on the bridge, are you sure it's not there? It should be stamped in the metal on the upper part under the strings.

Exactimundo! ...check the bridge. They all have (had) numbers. Yours is likely B00XXXX or something like that.
