Neck options for a G&L

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, as You read recently my G&L L-2500 that I bought used has a neck that can't be fixed so I'm checking my options, I've chech on the warmoth neks since G&L necks are very similar to Fender's , I've checked the neck pocket measures that warmoth gives in their website and seems the same ones as my G&L , but what I don't know if is there will be a problem since the G&L has 21 frets with the neck base covering all 21 frets while warmoth ones have the 21h fret as a extension of the fingerboard and it does rest on the body, so thats where I'm lost. . would it fit???
Cheers and thanks for Your answers , opinions or/and wishes

Nevermind, they just said their necks won't fit a G&L or MM bass body -_- . .

*bump* for suggetions besides built a new one , Doug from soulmateguitars charges me about 340 + shipping is good but kinda tedious for him since i just can supply him templates and not the piece itself. . .

I think Moses or one of the other Graphite necks have replacement necks.

Or G&L could do it but I hear it's about $400 or so.

factory

There's another post on here about how much the factory wants if you do a search. I was shocked at the cost. Better to look for a whole used bass! Graphite sounds cool if you are gonna keep it, and are not worried about if it's all stock.

Well I discaded factory seems price would be lots high . . . maybe if I live in USA wouldn't matter, but i'm in México so add a regular 35% for taxes and add about 60+ USD for shipping so if we are talking about 400 for a neck adding 35% is . . 540 + 60 usd shipping = 600 USD neck same as buying a new tribute G&L xD!

So I already talk to Rick a guy that built basses here in Mexico (check his post: mexican luthier first single cut!!! ) and he will built me a new one with maple as base and ziricote as fingerboard for about 320 USD ) so i'll put my bet with this guy and see how this goes when the bass gets ready I'll post pics and maybe soundclips, cheers and thanks for your help.

I really like the feel & playability of my Moses neck on my L2k. Mind is fretless though.
