Just letting you guys know, I got an awsome deal on an ASAT semi-hollow, and tomorrow I'll be making the 1 1/2 hour trip to pick it up! I have goosebumps everytime I think about it and I have a perma-smile on! Can't wait!
I currently have an L-1000, with some neck problems so I'm eager for a new G&L.

Here's a pic of the new with the old: |

From what I've heard, the ASATs are more prone to neck dive than the L-2000s. |

| | | | oh i know its just the only american L2000 around, the colour wasnt workin for me at all, and trying to finish up college, really cant justify spending that much on a bass and not being happy with it 100% |

Also, I don't know where people are getting neck dive from ASAT, mine is the most perfectly balanced bass I've ever played. My Epi Thunderbird, on the other hand, that's neck dive!

I've had MY Blonde ASAT for abaout 5 years, and when I do 3-set gigs, I'm lovin' it.
Not a hint of neck-dive. Nice wide-strap, 'cause G&L's aren't the lightest basses to begin with (a good thing!) and no prob.
It's sorta an "urban legend' or a herd mentality thing, or else some players are genetically
built for an ASAT! I mean what is the prob? It's a singel-cut tele-style! Put the strap on the right buttons and play!
Now if you DO have, or hae had, probs, I aplogize, I don't mean to deride you and your altered sense of balance (-:, but hey- try a 2K!
ANd transparent orange is one of the KEWLEST finishes they make.

Fender Jazz, etc.. But if your a bigger guy all this doesnt seem to be as noticable, btw the necks on these basses are to die for in terms of feel and yes do sound like the L2000. |
