Noisy Switch

Sign in to disble this ad
After 4 years, the pup selector on my L2K, has developed some crunchies.
Is the C and K switch sealed or is it possible to use contact cleaner on it?
Or, is it best to just replace the switch?

I've had no response from G&L on this issue for about a week now.

Contanct cleaner saved me grief on my first bass

Just last week I received a G&L Tribute, brand new, and had a static problem with the parralell, series switch. I was reffered by musicians friend to a G&L repair place and Chris said before we go shipping this thing around the country go to radio shack and get some contact cleaner and just put a drop or two on the switch externaly and toggle it a bit. I let it set for a couple of hours and my problem was gone. This is my beginner base and I feel I made a great decision. M/F even gave me $50 off for my trouble. I was surprised the little bottle cost ten bucks but it did the trick. Good Luck

Caig Deoxit Gold cleaner and lube is your friend.
They have it at radio shack, and they sell a nice little field service kit at musicians friend.

call first; some stock it, some have to order it.
the MF kit is real handy.
also, you can order direct from the Caig site, and their direct prices are good...

Thanks for the heads up. I will call this morning. I will also check the shop where I get the work done on my instruments.Been going there since the early 80's. ( as I am blind, don't do much more than change the batteries)

I'm going out Thuhrsday for a string change so maybe I can get everything accomplished in one swell foop!
