Not sure what wood is this G&L

I've recently bought a G&L Tribute L2500 and i heard that their is 2 version, one use the Basswood and one use the swamp ash. I'm not too sure what wood my use.

The website says that the black ones are Basswood and the rest are Ash

thx for the info guys,

the bass is abit heavy compare to my rockbass since this is a 5 string and my other one is 4 string. I've not got a strap for this bass yet so not sure will the bass balance properly or not. I've heard the tuner on the head make it quit heavy.

I've never had a problem balancing a G&L with a 4" wide leather strap. I tried to use a 2" cheaping one time that would not balance.

This is probably a question that's been answered somewhere else, but what are the weights of each type (swamp ash, basswood)?

Swamp ash is generally heavier than basswood.
