I just pulled the trigger on a passive El Toro last night on the 'Bay. I'll report on how it plays when I receive it.

I finally got it on Friday. It plays like buttah. but the pickup selector is stuck on the bridge pickup, so I can only get both pickups in series mode.

....hmmm, I believe it's non-fixable. I'll gladly take it off your hands .

Thumbs up

Last night at band practice I was able straighten out the slightly bent shaft on the switch, and make it work. My favorite sound on this bass is in series mode through my Mesa 400+, so I'm set either way.

Does anyone have the passive El Toro schematic? I asked on G&LDP, and got nothin'....

Timmay, if you ever bust yours open, I'd love to see a pic or schematic.

Thanks!

It isn't any different than the active, just no rear switch. The front 2 are the same.

Okay, anybody got an active El Toro schematic? Mine currently has no guts at all, except for the pickups. It was originally active, but I'd rather restore it passive.

Thanks,
-GB
