The ASAT Semi-Hollowbody I purchased arrived on Friday. It is a beautiful bass with a three tone sunburst finish, body binding on the front and back and binding on the neck.
The sound of this bass is awesome and the neck plays great, however I'm having a little trouble finding a comfortable position to play it when I'm using a strap. The problem is, since there is has no body contour, with the way I play, the body cuts into the bottom of my forearm. I tried it at different heights to see if I could alleviate it, and nothing seemed to work.
This may sound strange, but I wrapped a towel around my arm to cushion where it hits the bass and it worked fine, no discomfort at all...even though it looks pretty dorky with a towel wrapped around my arm. I'm thinking about buying one of the thicker terrycloth sport sweat bands to see it that will work instead of the towel.
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what they may have done to overcome it.
