Replacement Nut

I managed to break the nut on my Korean L2000 tribute a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I am away from home for a few more weeks and want to organise a replacement before I get home.

Would some one be able to suggest what size blank I should get? And is there a worthy upgrade to the standard nut?

You'd probably be good just to measure the slot or any pieces of the old one you still have.

I don't have a Korean bass here, but I'd guess it's probably 3.5mm or 1/8" - pretty standard size. I have a Lakland Skyline that is made in the same plant as the Indonesian Tribute, and its nut is 3.5mm.

A worthy upgrade? Bone, I guess. There are several synthetics out there as well as brass, but bone seems to get a lot of use.
