Saddle screw

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a used L2000 and noticed the previous owner must have lost the original 1" screw used for setting the intonation on the saddle of the E string. The one on there was 1.5". As a result it couldn't intonate properly. I cut it down to 1" with a hack saw. It works but the screw is slightly skinnier than the originals and I'm afraid it might strip out of the saddle. Can I purchase a real screw from G&L or what? I bought a similar screw from ACE Hardware but the head on the screw is too big to fit into the space the screw goes on the bridge. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you grind down or sand down the head so it'll fit in the slot?

I personally don't own a G&L, but I'm just strolling about.. so I don't know what it looks like.

try shaping the sides of the head so it'll fit.

good luck

Dunno if you can buy just a screw but call and ask. If you buy a saddle set you get screws and springs.
