Most of what I see is the rosewood fingerboards. I know G&L says that they're available with a maple board. Does anybody have one?

At the G&L site follow the Instruments link, then the "click here for Tribute Series" logo/link, then the "G&L Tribute Series models" link, then the "SB-2" link in the Basses frame. This product description only lists rosewood as the available fretboard.
I recently got one of these new Indonesia-made Tribute SB-2's and am very impressed. The build quality and fit/finish is better than any MIM Fender I have ever had or played. The neck is very close to a #8 and the fretwork is excellent.
Mine is a black one with black PG and is a project right now to put in a Tone pot mod and pimp the PG a bit. I am thinking some red or maroon accents to the PG would look really good. Will post it whenever it gets completed.

| Yeah I'd love to see it. I just wish somebody around here carried G&L's. Everybody says they can order one, but then you don't have the chance to try more than one at a time, which is a bummer.

I hate rosewood boards.

I had no choice in the matter because I got it via trade at a guitar show, but I'm really happy it has rosewood. Regardless, I think maple should always be an option, especially since the Tribby SB-2 comes in black/black! How can they offer that WITHOUT maple?

Got mine new from NitroTone on eBay. I would have been nice to see it first and pick from more than one, but it came out of the box w/o problems. Not too many places have them in stock.
May be sending the pickguard to a friend who does custom artwork and paint/decals on boats. Who knows what he may come up with but I am sure it will be more interesting than anything I could do.
