Semi hollow and full body ASAT?

That's it. Can you guys describe to me the difference in sound between those two ASATs? Never heard any semi hollow bass so I have no idea. And I am getting increasingly interested in ASAT. Also, there is a mention of Tribute ASAT on G&L website, Do they come in fretless as well?
Cheers

The only Tribute ASAT is made in Japan and not marketed in the US.

You can order a fretless ASAT (or maybe find one) but they certainly are available. (Not in a Tribute model as stated).

Soundwise- I own a solid-body; nothing needs to be restated except they are identical sonically to the great L2K.... except WAY cooler-

I've played the semi-hollows. There isn't going to be a major difference- Somewhat less weight, although insignificant, but the major diff being the resonance that comes from chambering.
For certain styles of music and tone variataion, the semi-hollow might produce a somewhat more resonant "open" tone, best I can describe, while conversely, the solid body might have more impact and a more "electric" feel to it.
All varies with the amp, the attack, and of course the player and their style.

Great basses either choice.; mine is superb.

This has been discussed before. Hit search.

But again....maybe, just maybe there's a little less punch no the semihollows. I've had both. But the weight difference and the absence of neck dive made the choice easy for me.

The semi hollow had the less neck dive. But in all honesty, the solid body neck dive did not bother me all that much. Just get a 3.5" or 4" strap and that helped immensely.
