Serial numbers and info ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi People,

firstly, hallo. I just got here and already I got a question :-)

Anyone know where I can maybe find out how old my L 2500 is, and the rest ? I bought it from some guy in Holland, who knew no details (except about the twenty or so Stingrays he had in the cellar - weird).

In case someone here is good at this, the serial number is CL07111.

Cheers and, er, nice to meet you.

Stu

Hey Stu,

Welcome to the club. The most accurate way to find the age of your Bass is to remove the neck. There will be a date in the neck pocket (body date), and on the heel of the neck (neck date). The dates are usually within a few months of each other but not always. If your setup is dead-on or you are not comfortable taking your Bass apart and getting it back together you may not want to attempt this.

You can also try to "bracket" the date by checking the GbL registry here http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/AUTOREG/ and see if you can find serial numbers close to yours, but this method can vary by a few years. I did a quick check, and yours appears to be in the 1996-1998 range.

Hope this helps.
