Hey Guys,
I know some of you read about my less than great experience with my custom redburst L2000. But the other day I had a chance to play a nice L2500 in three tone sunburst. Now I'm certainly not a five string player, I have enough problems with four! But the TONE. After playing the G&L I went to a Guitar Center and played a few Music*^%'s while the necks played like butter the tone just seemed to harsh (brittle) to me. Soooo I would really like to find a light, 3 tone sunburst or black L2000 with a #8 jazz neck. Especially since I've heard they have changed the body shape a bit which cuts off some weight plus the rolled fingerboard? I'm in.

I will add that the tone on my L2500 is different to me than my L2000 (or any newer L2000s that I've tried)- I love the tone on my L2000, but the 2500 has a certain midrange presence that is harder for me to achieve with the 2000. I would definitely reccomend specifically trying some L2000s again before buying one...

Well, I haven't come back yet. But I do have my eye on a nice new L2000 weighing in at 8lbs! That's almost 5 lbs lighter than the custom L2000 I sold. My shoulder(s) will certainly be happy.

I'm the one who bought it from Brent, then sold it to dogbass. Yes, I remember it weighing in at 11.5 lbs.

Beautiful bass though. Hated to let it go, but I needed the cash at the time. I'll be replacing it with a new custom L-2000 in the next few months. I can't wait to get the money saved up.

I found the same thing about the MM basses. I know a lot of people love them, and I don't have a problem with them. They sure do sound good in a lot of guys' hands. But the sound is (to me) has only two possible varieties: very clickety-clackety, or very boom-boom. I can only play one for a short time before my ears get tired and I want to hear something a little more natural.
