Sorta SB-ish...

I built this bass from a Fender Japan A/E semi-hollowbody, and an allparts neck. Got rid of the piezo/acoustic guitari-ish bridge, and put a '51P string thru body brdige, and pickguard on it.
Initially I had it loaded with a Reverend 10kohm P pup; but then I sold my SB2...I missed the great huge clear piano tone of the G&L MFD P humbucker, so I ordered another one from guitarman-nyc...(thx!)
Here's a snap of it (prior to putting the G&L pup in).
It's massive!

Very cool.

Do you find it difficult to produce enough funk to match its thunder?

Love it. Any thought of adding a bridge pickup?

Nope.
I've got a couple other P/J's, I like the simplicity of this...

What do you think of the MFD moved a little farther forward relative to the SBs? Notice much difference in tone?

Well, it might be a little darker/rounder; but that could just as eaily be the effect of the semi-hollow body, eh?

It's still The Thunder(tm)!
