Stupid G&Ls...

Sign in to disble this ad
So, a while back I buy myself a G&L Tribute L2000 from Musicians Friend, not really expecting much. I returned it three days after having it. With the money back, I bought the USA model, after having been thoroughly impressed by G&L.

And now, after having tried out some G&L guitars, I've convinced my band to play G&L - and only G&L.

Your stupid G&Ls have turned out to be better than the stupid Fender Deluxe guitars we were using, at a much lower cost. Thank you.

How exactly did you convince the guitarists? I've been working on mine to go with G&L, and have gotten nowhere. The band leader plays rhythm, and has only one guitar so he needs a backup. He's a lefty, and G&L offers plenty of options, but NOOOO -- he's set on a Les Paul. That's not so bad, but get this: the lead player wanted an aggressive Strat type guitar with noiseless pickups, so I pushed the Comanche, but NOOOO -- he ordered a Carvin.

Sheesh. What's a GLeek to do with these people?

At least they appreciate my G&L basses.

I had a fender precision.....and excellent bass.......I also had a Rickenbacker....that was my first real bass. I sold them both and went looking for a new bass. I stumbled into a small shop in NY, and looked at a new G and L L2k. I had never seen or heard of G and L, this was back in 1984. I tried it, and walked out with it, not knowing what a great purchase I had made till about 20 years later..........(I didnt get out much). I feel like the princess who married a frog and then one day, the frog was a prince...

There ya' go!

Actually, pretty cool story of how you landed your L2000. I'm usually late to the party as I was this time. Got my first Trib in 2008. Hadn't even heard of them before that.

Probably because I was late to the "learn to play bass" party as well. Didn't help that the G&L forum is pretty far down in the mix here. Took me a lot of reading to get through the main bass section and begin to explore.

Learn to use the search feature in the upper rt corner...saves hours of reading...don't mean that to sound obnoxious....took me a week to find it!!

I'm still waiting for my G&L 2500, and I am already thinking about a G&L Comanche... and I barely even play guitar! (can play some basic open chords)
