It seems like the sets that come stock on Tribby 4-strings can be a bit flabby and loose when you dig in. What does the G&L-playing TB membership have to recommend in terms of higher-tension 4-string sets (thru-bridge only)??

The excellent tech/luthier I use always recommends GHS Boomers or D'Addario strings, partly for this reason. I've always liked Boomers, so it's fine with me. But I think the L-1500 might sound better with lower tension strings, so I might try Fenders next.

I've got a set on my J right now and I'll probably be replacing the ones on my tribby L2.5k in the very near future. Tight strings, good finger response, and great tone. |

As far as I know, G&L 4's are only stringable thru the bridge, Tribby or USA, and the 5's have the thru-body option.
