treble cut on L2k

Should this knob always be responsive and noticeably so? I am not able to really notice much of a change as I adjust it. Also what would you recommend I do in an effort to remove the knob w/o doing any damage if the little screw that holds the knob onto the pot is stuck. I have not stripped it but I have worn the edges of the slot off a bit. I noticed that the knob sets higher than the other 2 and was going to investigate (thinking that this also could be evidence of the problem with lack of response) and discovered this issue.

The bass is a new purchase, it is a used '92 that has some pretty heavy wear. I don't mind that at all. The neck seems to be in good shape and the electronics are great with this one exception. I am completely floored by the bass overall and am eager to resolve any/all issues.

Thanks for any advice!

I have the same year and model. The treble pot has a point around 2 where it goes from no treble to plenty of treble in a quick rush, then from 3 to 10 it is a very fine adjustment. It is a little less subtle in series mode than in parallel.

As for the set screw, you could try a small amount of Liquid Wrench on it, wait for it to penetrate, then put the screwdriver on and gently tap it with a small hammer, that might loosen it up. If worse comes to worse you can always buy a new pot and/or knob from G&L.

Perfect - thanks man. I can notice a slight amount of change in the tone as I adjust it, just not a large amount. I haven't gone through and checked on every p/u & preamp option in order to determine consistency however I think that I will probably just go ahead and get another pot just to rest my mind at ease. I am loving this bass so much that I want to make sure I am getting everything that it has to offer.
