Tribute Headstock problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone run across their headstock holes being drilled crappy?

I put on a set of hipshot tuners and noticed the holes looked like they were drilling from both sides and they did not like up in the middle?

Granted this was on one of the very first models of the Jb2 Trib. prototype bass's ever made in late 2001, but kept back at the G&L offices.

This looks like this prototype was hand made to me. Lack of templates or CNC...

Any comments on similar experiences would be great.

I had to clean up the holes so the new tuning machines would mount flush and not twist.
