Hey y'all!
Is there any difference between the Tribute Pickups/Electronics and the USA ones, cosmetically or otherwise? |

Because as I think you may know, Tribby's use the same US made pickups as the domestic line though the preamp is imported. Worse yet, you think the pickups may not be G&L at all? Have any pictures? |

Hmm... maybe a 1505 thing? | Weird, I presumed the 1505 single pickup was identical to that of the 2500, just that the single pickup placement is more in the sweet zone. Perhaps you have an older model? |

Which then begs the question... are they the same pickup as in the 2000 series. If so, are they bridge or neck? Perhaps the 1500 series pickups are unique to just them! Does anyone know? |

I guess one of the more significant changes has been going from the 3-bolt neck to 6. I recall the older ASAT basses having slab bodies while later models had the more comfy belly contour. On the less significant end is that the headstock has changed over the years and for instance, there used to be that black coating over the bridge compared to the more current full-on chrome bridge (otherwise, identical bridges as far as I know). I wouldn't be surprised if G&L upgraded the pickup covers to their humbuckers to make them comfier but otherwise didn't change the design of the pickups themselves. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
