Is it just me, or does it seem like Tribute prices are going up? I just happened to be on Craigslist looking at an ad for something else and I decided to see what Tribute L2Ks were going for. One guy was trying to sell one for $800, which is way more than what I paid for mine two years ago.So I started looking at new prices and I saw one going for $699. That seems high to me.
Anyone?

Got my L2.5 for $500 last year, but suspect the website had made a price error. Another TB'er tried to buy it for that on Monday (bought mine on Saturday) and was told by the store manager, "We have never sold it for that price and can't sell it for that price." Other buyer was looking at their page, which clearly said 499 while the manager was talking to him.
Long story short...those prices are normal retail now.

| | | Add another $100 on top of the normal $699 L2000 and $799 L2500 prices for the new "carved top" models ($799 & $899 respectively). They do look nice.
I was the one that oldrookie mentioned had trouble with a certain web retailer telling me that I was not seeing the price I WAS seeing on my computer screen in front of me. It all worked out though, he let me know of another web retailer that was selling an L2500 for an even better price. I got my blueburst in early December for $469 (free shipping as well). It was brand new made in April of 2008, not a blem, not B-stock. I assume they were just blowing out their final '08 model inventory. I have not seen any deals for new Tributes remotely close to that since. Thanks again oldrookie, I'm really enjoying mine! |

Really nice to be able to walk into a store, look and the basses and think, "Nah. Don't want them." Cheaper too, in the long run.
Course, when I want a completely different feel, I just grab the TBC.

John | Yea, I got used to the neck also, now it's my '75 jazz that feels different. Gonna gig with it tonight.
I paid $649 in May for the L-2000 Trib. Bought it new. Really nice and solid. You cant chip that finish. but I finally found a tiny ding and I celebrated. hahaha. They gotta look "played".
