Tried out a SB2 and a L1505...

Hey Guys,
I was in Montreal the other day and stopped by Italmelodie Music. They have a large selection of G&L's although many have been there for awhile and desperately need setups. But I had a chance to sit down with and SB-2 and an L1505. I played through a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 2X10 combo what a great amp by the way. I really liked both basses. Very different from my L2000. I didn't experience the "wall of thunder" or overly hot gain from the SB-2 that many of you had talked about. It just sounded really great! Kinda chunky and smooth at the same time.Very heavy though. I actually liked not having a tone knob, one less thing to fiddle with!
The 1505 was great as well and a totally different tone than my L2000. The neck was very comfortable but then again I have always liked the feel of G&L's five string necks. The tone was very punchy and gurgly but still smooth. I liked both the active and passive tones. Wow who knows, there might be another G&L in my future. Who'd a thunk it.
Brent
