Took my new to me L2K to a couple of rehearsal sessions in the last week - one with my original progressive/hardcore band, and one with my covers band. My standard basses for the two projects have been a Warwick Thumb Bolt-on 4 & my Ibanez ATK300 respectively.
The Thumb sits very aggressively in the mix, perfect for working in with my guitarist's Mesa rig. My drummer has complained whenever I've played anything else, as he hasn't been able to hear it as well. The L2K passed that test with flying colours

I wasn't as impressed with it's tone - the old strings were still on it at that point, and the E in particular was quite dead. I'm looking forward to trying again now it's freshly restrung - it might just beat the Warwick at it's own game...
Typical settings: N+B pickups, Series, Active + Boost, tones wide open & played fingerstyle. I really dig shifting to the neck pickup, cutting all the bass, and playing with a pick through delay fx.
I have a couple of covers gigs coming up, so the L2K got new strings & went along to practice. We do a couple of RHCP songs, and I'll concede the ATK300 sounds a bit more like a 'Ray, but the L2K is close enough. I love that I can get old school thump so easily, and shift to modern rock grit with the flick of a switch.
Typical settings:
Modern rock - N, Series, Active + Boost, pick
Old school - N, Series, Passive, fingers
I still have a few issues with pickup balance, and some noisy pots to take care of - once that is sorted out, I'm going to be very happy with this bass.
