I just bought a very nice used US L2500 sunburst, matching headstock, with 3-2 also. Was there a different headstock machine head syle at one time on older/newer models? Seller said this one is about 2 yrs old or so. Yes got mine between 6-9 bills, great bass, great deal. So about the headstock then?

I believe the older 5ers had a 4+1 headstock.
