Very Excited about new Bass but did I get ripped off?

Do you play with both pickups on? it's possible there is a short where one of the pickups goes in and out (a bad solder connection on either the hot or ground of one pickup)- it would sound like an immediate change in tone, though there may or may not be a crackling noise along with it.

Be happy I say! Last spring, I bought a L2k tribute for 900 €, which is about 1200 american dollars. How do you think I felt when people here told me that they sell for 400 dollars in the US. But, it is a better bass than the many USA L2ks I tried out before getting the tribute. And I still love it!
