Volume, tone, switch, etc...controls on ASAT...???

Sign in to disble this ad
Greetings!

I just purchased a KILLER ASAT from an ebayer...

I've always wanted one, but aside from a Dean XL, have mainly play Fender Jazzes...my question is this...I've looked all over to find out exactly what each knob and switch on the bass does...but can't seem to find any schematics that show that.

Can any of you either post one, or direct me to a place I could find one?

Thanks...!

Thanks metron!

Quick question, I've never had an active/passive bass before, say I'm gigging somewhere and forgot to change the battery for the preamp, can I just put it into passive mode and totally bypass the need for the battery?

Thanks again!

Yes you can. In fact many of us G&L users prefer the passive mode and use it that way all the time.

A benefit of the G&L pre design is that the tone controls are passive so they work the same in active or passive mode.

Have been playing this bass since I posted my last question, and am really impressed with the tonal options.

I've never been a huge fan of active pickups, although I think it sounds great active, I like it better in passive mode myself.

Thanks...

Two of the most beautiful things about the G&L preamp...

First, if you run out of juice, flip it back to passive, and keep on rocking...and still harder than most active basses !

Second, the active settings don't color the sound, just give you a slight boost in signal...wanna cut through ? Flip a switch...

Gotta love these basses...and yours is an absolute stunner. Nice grab.

The dot-less ebony board is a killer. You can't even get ebony on a fretted G&L now. Ebony is available only on fretless models. Hang on tight!
