i know they are D'Addario's, but what gauge?

out of my 4 basses, the G&L is the only one i'm thinking of keeping rounds on.

thank you sir!

i've never considered D'Addario's for bass - i've lived and died by DR's and TI's

Got me!

I have a couple 45-100 sets here that were given to me at open houses, where I was told that they are the same strings as installed new.

AGGGHHH CRAP!

now i have a possible 3 choices?

i wasn't trying to screw with you over the guages, just had some conflicting info...

so i wonder what to go with?

is the guitarsbyleo site run by some employees with us common folk or is it just people who love g&l's?

Huh? 3? Maybe I was confusing. If so, sorry. To the best of my knowledge they use .045 to .100 EXL170SL strings.

You actually have a lot more than three choices if you consider the various manufacturers. Personally, I prefer Thomastik-Infeld strings.

Slinkys? TI's? Rounds? Flats?

In the end, you're going to go with what you like. If you venture away from D'Addario, you'll probably have a minor trussrod tweak to do.

Company owned and enthusiast run. There is very little official info disseminated there.

Never had a problem putting 45-105 strings on any G&L.

If about 3 years or so ago yes, if more recent the lights.

Back when they used SIT they were 45-105 and the D'Addario are the 45-100.
