where can i get an L2000 in LA?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone, im new to this forum, and im hoping someone can help me.

im going to Los Angeles in about a month, and i want to get a bass while im out there. I did have an active fender p-bass up in till it got nicked about 2 months ago, but now i fancy getting something a bit different, im thinking an G&L L2000 tribute.

I have 2 questions about this bass, first, dose anyone know any guitar shops in LA that will have L2000's in stock, and also can anyone tell me the length of the neck on an L2000 from the top of the head to the bottom of the last fret. im asking this as i mite need to take it apart to get it home, and i'll need to have a bag big enough!

hope someone can help!
thanks, Gregg.

The biggest G&L dealer in the LA area (I bleeb) is True Tone music down in Santa Monica.

That said, I also think the Sam Ash of Sunset carries some from time to time. The big GC across Sunset also has a used one occasionally as well.

If you check G&Ls website (www.gnlguitars.com) you'll find a Dealer link.

Try to figure out which part of the city you're going to be in, and then call a local shop and see if they have some L-2000s in stock. Driving around LA and getting there to find that they don't have what you want will be very frustrating for the rookies to LA traffic.

When you say Los Angeles, do you mean the city or the region? It's kinda big here. Not Texas big, but big enough. Anyway, where you gonna light?

Yes, an excellent place to start.

The one thing I don't like about True Tone is the way they price their items. They try to take advantage of the less knowledgeable customers. For new items, they put the LIST price. DO NOT pay the price on the tag -- most stores in the US will typically sell for 30% off the list, sometimes 35% if they really want to make a deal. If you decide you want a bass, do a little quick calculation in your head and offer then 40% off the list and have them come back with the real cost. (This does not apply to used instruments, only to new).
