 Where do you find parts for G&L basses outside of G&L (when necessary)?

I'm not posting a WTB; I'm posting a *** (where to FIND). lol
I have a 1982 SB-2 (dates on the neck and body are Dec 1 and Dec 11, 1982), and I am missing one of the black and silver "radio" knobs. I have silver knobs on it right now temporarily, but I really want to get it back to it's original look.
I have searched high and low following my phone call to G&L asking to purchase a replacement knob to no avail.
Does anyone know where I might find one? Any tips are greatly appreciated.
And again, I'm not asking anyone here to sell me anything. I've tried all the "usual suspects" on the web and have met with negative results. I'm batting .000 here and I'm just looking for some help.
